Originally constructed in the early 1980s, Bedford Shopping Center - the site of a Wholefoods grocery and the location of the first Marshalls department store in Massachusetts - was in dire need of attention.

The project calls for the reconstruction of the original tenant buildings, along with the creation of a “Lifestyle Center.” The Lifestyle Center was created with the addition of 100,000 sf of new or renovated retail and restaurant uses.

A new “Greenway” was also added, which becomes an organizing “spine” and focal point for the project. The Greenway links pedestrian walkways from The Great Road deep into the heart of the redevelopment.
