SMOOK Architecture was commissioned by a private developer to refresh a dated and deteriorating 1960s retail building in downtown Needham. The austere one-story, 18,000 SF existing building was cladded in brick with limited glazing. SMOOK made improvements including increased fenestration, new sustainable materials re-casting the building in a new contemporary manner.
